Directions
to Kinbrylie If
you are coming from the South on the A9, (main road North), about 7 miles
before you reach Inverness you come to a place called Daviot. Turn left
onto the B851 (signposted to Fort Augustus). Keep on this road for about
15 miles, then it joins the B862 which passes through Whitebirdge. As long
as you follow the signs to Fort Augustus you will come to Whitebridge. If
you are coming from the South on the A82 through Glencoe and Fort William,
come as far as Fort Augustus. When you see the Abbey straight in front of
you, you turn right onto the B862 (signposted Errogie). Stay on that road
to Whitebridge. It is approximately 9 miles from Fort Augustus.
If
you are coming from the North or East and are passing through the town of
Inverness, look for the signs to Dores and Foyers (B862) south side of the
river. Follow this road to Dores where the road splits. It doesn't matter
which road you take, the B861 follows Loch Ness to Foyers and on to
Whitebridge, and the B862 leaves Loch Ness and takes you accross the hills
to Whitebridge. Both roads are nice although the hill road gives you some
of the nicest views of Loch Ness from the top. As long as you follow the
signs to Fort Augustus you will arrive at Whitebridge.
The
entrance to Kinbrylie is opposite Whitebridge Hotel, through the car park
and follow the drive to the top of the hill.
